Kia ora whānau
As we move into the new financial year it’s a good opportunity to reflect on what we have achieved over the last 12 months. There is outstanding mahi happening across the mental health and addiction sector.
In this newsletter we profile work being done to support people with mental illness into employment pathways, improving services through access to data and benchmarking information, the expansion of the Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment Courts, and programmes to increase mental health and addiction knowledge and skills for nurses working in primary care settings.
As I acknowledge your mahi, it’s a good time to remind you that nominations are open for the 2021 Minister of Health Volunteer Awards. The awards recognise the great work that goes on every day by volunteers across our health services, including hospitals, hospices, non-governmental organisations and in our communities. Nominations close at 5pm on Friday 16 July - you can find out more information on the Ministry of Health website.
Ngā mihi,
Toni
