Kia ora koutou
2022 is drawing to a close, and on behalf of the mental Health and Addiction group at Manatū Hauroa, I would like to wish you all Meri Kirihimete me kia hari te tau hau.
It has been a year of change and significant achievements, despite equally significant challenges such as COVID and workforce shortages. It is testament to the dedication, commitment and passion of people across all parts of the sector that we have seen continuity of care and support in a time of disruption.
Some highlights from the work of the team at Manatū Hauora include:
- Developing the policy advice for the new Mental Health Act with the outstanding Expert Advisory Group, and producing updated guidelines for the current Act
- Developing the Service and System Framework alongside Te Aka Whai Ora and Te Whatu Ora
- Progressing Kia Manawanui implementation across agencies responsible for wellbeing support
I know that many of you were involved in the work to support these initiatives and many other areas - thank you.
Finally, I would like to extend my personal appreciation for your engagement and support during my time as Associate DDG. I'm sure you will show the same support for Kiri Richards, who will be taking over the Associate Deputy Director General role in 2023.
Have a great festive season, and a restful break - you deserve it!
Ngā mihi,
Arran
