Participants wanted - Study re What are the experiences and perceptions of NZ oncology nurses
on 31 May
Kia ora
My name is Pauline Yorke and I am a research student on the Master of Nursing program at Massey University. I am conducting a small-scale qualitative research project entitled:
“What are the experiences and perceptions of New Zealand oncology nurses, in managing pain for adult patients with cancer, in the hospital ward setting?"
Therefore, I am seeking to interview 4-6 oncology nurses who work in a hospital ward setting and provide care to adults with cancer. Themes from the transcripts will hopefully identify barriers and enablers in oncology nursing practice, when providing pain management for this population.
I am also interested to see if the themes that emerge are similar to those discussed in overseas literature or if there are themes unique to oncology nursing in New Zealand. These themes could then be used to guide future practice and improve the quality of life for our cancer patients.
My study has ethics approval and has been deemed low risk. If you require any further information or documentation to proceed with this request, please let me know. pauline_yorke@yahoo.co.nz
