
About the Role
As Theatre Manager, you will provide leadership to the Theatre Suite, ensuring efficient resource utilisation and meeting patient needs while supporting and developing the theatre clinical leaders.
This is a permanent role offered fulltime, Monday – Friday.
Specific duties include
- Develop and maintain an equipment replacement register to ensure future-focused capital expenditure planning.
- Identify and develop staff to strengthen succession planning and retention within the theatre environment.
- Coach, mentor and support theatre leaders to effectively lead, grow and manage their teams
- Support theatre leaders to optimize resources for maximum theatre utilisation.
- Create innovative strategies to address skill shortages, improve staff retention, increase theatre time and ensure staff work to the top of their scope.
- Manage and own the theatre operation and capital expenditure programmes and budgets
- Lead change initiatives to improve outcomes, utilisation and efficiency.
Skills and Experience
Alongside your strong leadership skills and extensive perioperative experience, our ideal candidate will also be an excellent communicator with proven clinical credibility within the healthcare industry. You will also need to demonstrate the following:
- Registration with the Nursing Council or Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand, pursuant to the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003.
- Demonstrate sound professional judgement
- Current work experience in a theatre environment, preferably in a leadership capacity
- Have relevant knowledge of patient safety and resource management, including budgeting, equipment and staff management
- Demonstrate clinical quality, safety and best practice.
- Confidence to build successful working relationships with those around you, the ability to work independently or within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Relevant post-graduate qualification and ideally a current practicing certificate
