Introduction:
Hi my name is Karen
I have lived and worked in Palmerston North since emigrating from the UK in 2005. I am a Registered Nurse and I have an extensive, varied background having worked both in the United Kingdom and New Zealand. I have worked in NHS & DHB settings, private establishments, aged residential care, telenursing and have been a clinical tutor for a tertiary provider. I have also worked as a nurse educator for primary health care and am a qualified lymphoedema therapist.
I have a strong commitment to life-long learning and the support of others and my counselling experience adds another dimension to how I work with people. I have been providing supervision for nurses for several years and I am currently in private practice providing professional supervision and counselling services.
I offer a supportive environment to enable you to reflect on your practice and explore your ongoing professional journey. This incorporates safe ethical practice and professional development determined by the experiences and issues you bring to the session. I work in a collaborative way providing a space for you to reflect on and develop your practice in a way that is meaningful to you and the people you work with. I remain committed to ensuring my knowledge and skills remain current by engaging in regular professional development which is incorporated in my everyday practice, alongside engaging in my own professional and cultural supervision.
I look forward to meeting you.
