Introduction:
My roles over the years have spanned hospital (medical/ICU) and primary health/community care (General Practice/educator roles/PHO/District). I have worked in New Zealand for 21 years, with the last 10 years working as a senior nurse leader in Aotearoa, in Primary Health Care. I am a strong advocate for nurses both at a strategic and operational level, and have been involved in multiple workforce capability development programmes. I have also been involved in professional development for nurses and other health professionals, working with new entrants and new graduates through to nurses on their prescribing journeys and those in senior roles. I have enjoyed seeing nurses grow and gain confidence in their practice, their roles and responsibilities through professional supervision over the last seven years in metro Auckland. Most of all I enjoy meeting and working with all levels of nurses to help them be the best they can be. All nurses face day to day challenges they need to navigate. The last 3 years have been incredibly demanding and stretched nurses hugely; investment in keeping these nurses safe, well and continuously growing is critical for quality care. I offer a welcoming and safe environment to explore and manage practice issues using evidence based models to help nurses remain invested in nursing long into their future! This is your space, your learning, your journey.
