Supervision Specialty Areas:Professional supervision is an activity to support and empower nurses and health professionals to work to their values and strengths while reflecting and noticing areas of challenge. A large part of our lives is filled with work, our practice, and the professional self. There are times of great reward, and then there are elements that cause tension and conflict. Supervision allows a dedicated time and space to unpack and understand what it is that informs our ways of working and practice, giving opportunity to intentionally ensure alignment and integration between our values, actions, and thoughts across the differing spaces we are required to navigate. Supervision allows you to bring whatever is important, on top, relevant or pressing, and talk about what is going on for you around this. The experiences and narratives you bring to supervision, allows us to acknowledge and celebrate your strengths, and intentionally notice issues which may be causing professional questioning/distress. This work encourages you to bring your whole self, to authentically show up, understand your learning edge, and get a bit comfy, with being uncomfortable. My nursing experience has been based within Oncology, Hospice, Paediatric Palliative Care, Community Nursing, Private Practice, Occupational Health, being the best Nurse I can be, and supporting new graduates and colleagues. Professional Supervision is a process I personally love and find beneficial to my own practice. I enjoyed the post grad supervision training and feel privileged to offer this service to other nurses and health professionals.
